DETAILS OF INCIDENTS FIXED BY THE PATCH --------------------------------------- This patch fixes the following Symantec incidents: Patch ID: Patch_6_0_10001_3724367 * 3724367 (Tracking ID: 3711793) SYMPTOM: Even though the Check for Product Updates option is selected in the product installer, the available patches information is missing from the Product Updates panel. DESCRIPTION: When you launch the product installer and select the Check for Product Updates option, the list of patches that you need to apply before or after product installation are missing from the Product Updates panel. This issue occurs due to a change in the mapping of the "Patch_Type" fields in the patch central page. RESOLUTION: This issue has been resolved by changing the filter to display the cumulative patches information. File Name / Version: PatchManager.dll / 6.0.10001.390 INSTALLING THE PATCH -------------------- To apply the patch -----------------------------------+ 1. Copy the contents of the product software disc containing the installation package to a temporary location on your system, for example: "C:\temp\prod_disc" 2. Navigate to the "Installer" folder within this location, and rename the "PatchManager.dll" file to "PatchManager_Orig.dll". 3. Copy the patch zip file to your system and extract its contents to a different temporary location. 4. From the extracted contents, copy the "PatchManager.dll" file and paste it in the "Installer" directory that was mentioned in step 2. 5. Optionally, you can also run the CopyPatchManager.bat script from the extracted contents to automatically copy the "PatchManager.dll" file in the "Installer" directory. The script prompts you to enter the location where you copied the contents of the product software disc as mentioned in step 1. Enter the location and press Enter. 6. Navigate to the location where "Setup.exe" is located, and double-click the file. 7. To complete the installation, follow the instructions in the respective installation guides.
