DETAILS OF INCIDENTS FIXED BY THE PATCH --------------------------------------- This patch fixes the following Symantec incidents: Patch ID: VRTSgab-6.1.0.100 * 3728108 (Tracking ID: 3728106) SYMPTOM: On Linux, the value corresponding to 15 minute CPU load average increases to about 4 even when clients of GAB are not running and the CPU usage is relatively low. DESCRIPTION: GAB reads the count of currently online CPUs to correctly adapt the client heartbeat timeout with the system load. Due to an issue, it accidentally overwrites the kernel's load average value. As a result, even though the actual CPU usage does not increase, the value that is observed from /proc/loadavg for the 15 minute CPU load average is increased. RESOLUTION: The code is modified so that the GAB module does not overwrite the kernel's load average value.
