======================================================================= VERITAS Volume Manager 5.0 MP3HF1 for Linux This is a hotfix patch 1 for Veritas Volume Manager 5.0MP3 on Linux. This patch can only be installed on top of the following: VERITAS Volume Manager 5.0MP3 ======================================================================= SmartMove can be used to migrate online to thin provisioning capable storage arrays and automatically reclaim unused space. In 5.0 MP3 GA, SmartMove only applies to the vxplex command and is turned off by default. This hotfix extends SmartMove to all supported VxVM move operations, layered volumes and instant snapshots. With the hotfix, the default behavior is to use SmartMove for VxVM volumes that contain disks that are known to be thin, typically through automated discovery of device attributes. ======================================================================= Patch Installation Instructions: -------------------------------- o Before-the-upgrade :- (a) Stop I/Os to all the VxVM volumes.
