DETAILS OF INCIDENTS FIXED BY THE PATCH --------------------------------------- This patch fixes the following incidents: Patch ID: 6.2.1.100 * 3919629 (Tracking ID: 3920058) SYMPTOM: CP server does not boot up if it starts on a port which is not in the dynamic port range (49152-65535). DESCRIPTION: If you attempt to start the CP server on a valid port not in the TCP dynamic port range (49152-65535), the CP server configuration fails. Restrictions in the VxCPS code does not allow configuring CP server on a port that is not in the dynamic port range. RESOLUTION: The VxCPS code is modified to allow the configuration if the TCP port on which CP server starts is in the range 1-65535. INSTALLING THE PATCH -------------------- Installation instructions for CP server 1. Run the following command on any node of CP server cluster to OFFLINE CPSSG service group. # /opt/VRTSvcs/bin/hagrp -offline CPSSG -any 2. Perform this step on all nodes of the CP server cluster to install the patch. Go to the directory where the patch is downloaded and run the following command. # rpm -Uvh VRTScps-6.2.1.100-RHEL6.x86_64.rpm 3. Modify thee vxcps.conf file to include the new port number 4. ONLINE CPSSG service group again on the node where it was previously running. # /opt/VRTSvcs/bin/hagrp -online CPSSG -sys Installation instructions for CPS client 1. Stop vcs on client nodes # /opt/VRTSvcs/bin/hastop -local 2. Stop VxFEN on client node # systemctl stop vxfen 3. Perform this step on the client nodes to install the patch. Go to the directory where the patch is downloaded and run the following command. # rpm -Uvh VRTScps-6.2.1.100-RHEL6.x86_64.rpm 4. Modify the /etc/vxfenmode file to include the new port number 5. Start VxFEN on client node # systemctl start vxfen 6. Start HAD # /opt/VRTSvcs/bin/hastart REMOVING THE PATCH ------------------ Uninstallation instructions for CP server 1. Run the following command on any node of CP server cluster to OFFLINE CPSSG service group. # /opt/VRTSvcs/bin/hagrp -offline CPSSG -any 2. Perform these steps on all nodes of the CP server cluster. a) Uninstall VRTScps package: # rpm -ev VRTScps b) Install VRTScps-6.2.1.000-RHEL6.x86_64.rpm package from the 6.2.1 source media. 3. ONLINE CPSSG service group again on the node where it was previously running. # /opt/VRTSvcs/bin/hagrp -online CPSSG -sys Uninstallation instructions for CPS client 1. Stop vcs on client nodes # /opt/VRTSvcs/bin/hastop -local 2. Stop VxFEN on client node # systemctl stop vxfen 3. Perform this step on the client nodes to uninstall the patch. # rpm -ev VRTScps 4. Install VRTScps-6.2.1.000-RHEL6.x86_64.rpm package from the 6.2.1 source media. 5. Modify the /etc/vxfenmode file to include the appropriate port number 6. Start VxFEN on client node # systemctl start vxfen 7. Start HAD # /opt/VRTSvcs/bin/hastart SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS -------------------- NONE OTHERS ------ NONE
