DETAILS OF INCIDENTS FIXED BY THE PATCH --------------------------------------- This patch fixes the following incidents: Patch ID: 7.3.1.1100 * 3989827 (Tracking ID: 3989826) SYMPTOM: Oracle 19c does not support for DBED. DESCRIPTION: Oracle 19c does not support for DBED. RESOLUTION: Oracle 19c support is enabled for DBED. INSTALLING THE PATCH -------------------- Run the Installer script to automatically install the patch: ----------------------------------------------------------- Please be noted that the installation of this P-Patch will cause downtime. To install the patch perform the following steps on at least one node in the cluster: 1. Copy the patch dbed-rhel7_x86_64-Patch-7.3.1.1100.tar.gz to /tmp 2. Untar dbed-rhel7_x86_64-Patch-7.3.1.1100.tar.gz to /tmp/hf # mkdir /tmp/hf # cd /tmp/hf # gunzip /tmp/dbed-rhel7_x86_64-Patch-7.3.1.1100.tar.gz # tar xf /tmp/dbed-rhel7_x86_64-Patch-7.3.1.1100.tar 3. Install the hotfix(Please be noted that the installation of this P-Patch will cause downtime.) # cd /tmp/hf # ./installVRTSdbed731P1100 [ ...] You can also install this patch together with 7.3.1 base release using Install Bundles 1. Download this patch and extract it to a directory 2. Change to the Veritas InfoScale 7.3.1 directory and invoke the installer script with -patch_path option where -patch_path should point to the patch directory # ./installer -patch_path [] [ ...] Install the patch manually: -------------------------- INSTALLING THE PATCH -------------------- 1.Stop the vxdbd daemon #/opt/VRTS/bin/sfae_config disable 2.Change to the directory where the patch is located and install the patch using the below commands: # cd hotfix_directory; # rpm -Uvh VRTSdbed-7.3.1.1100-RHEL7.x86_64.rpm 3. Verify that the new patch is installed by executing below command and verify the output. Example # rpm -qa|grep VRTSdbed If the proper patch is installed, the following output is displayed: VRTSdbed-7.3.1.1100-RHEL7.x86_64.rpm 4.Start the vxdbd daemon /opt/VRTS/bin/sfae_config enable REMOVING THE PATCH ------------------ PATCH UNINSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: ---------------------------------- Removal of the patch will result in removing the entire package from the system/node. To go back to a previous installed version of the package, you may need to re-install the package. Run the following steps on all the nodes: To remove the patch -------------------- 1.Stop the vxdbd daemon #/opt/VRTS/bin/sfae_config disable 2.Remove/reject the patch: # rpm -e VRTSdbed 3.Verify that the patch is uninstalled from the node: # rpm -qa|grep VRTSdbed If the patch was successfully uninstalled, there will be no output. 4.Install the VRTSdbed 7.3.1 package from the installation media. 5.Start the vxdbd daemon /opt/VRTS/bin/sfae_config enable SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS -------------------- NONE OTHERS ------ NONE
