Hot fix name =============== Veritas CommandCentral Enterprise Reporter 5.1 Hot Fix 1 ================================ 2. Required base product version ================================ The required installed base product version for this hot fix is: * Enterprise Reporter 5.1 ============================================= 3. Operating systems supported by the hot fix ============================================= * Solaris 9 * Solaris 10 =================================== 4. Preparing to install the hot fix =================================== Before you install this hot fix, perform these steps: 1. Log in to the Enterprise Reporter console. 2. In the Enterprise Reporter console, click: Data Management > Data Rollup Configuration > Status Verify that no data rollups are in progress. To install this hot fix, all data rollup processes must be complete. 3. Disable all data sources for data rollup. For each data source: a. Click: Data Management > Data Sources b. Select the data source. c. Uncheck the Enabled checkbox. d. Click Save. 4. If Oracle is on a remote system, check that the tnsnames.ora file on the Enterprise Reporter server contains entries for the Oracle server. These entries allow the Enterprise Reporter server to reach the Oracle server using the tnsping utility. If entries for the Oracle server are not present in the tnsnames.ora file, add them. =========================== 5 - Installing the hotfix =========================== 1. Download the file er-sol_sparc-5.1HF510001952462u.tar.gz to a temporary location on an Enterprise Reporter server. 2. Unpack the .tar.gz, which will give you the following files/directories: README (this file) patches/ VRTSccer-F510001952462.tar.gz VRTSccer-Framework-Files.tar.gz a. Unzip the file. Enter the following command: gunzip VRTSccer-Framework-Files.tar.gz The name of the unzipped file is VRTSccer-Framework-Files.tar. b. Extract the tarball. Enter the following command: tar -xvf VRTSccer-Framework-Files.tar After the above steps, you will find a directory CCERHF. 3. Change current working directory to the CCERHF directory. 4. Copy the VRTSccer-F510001952462.tar.gz to the CCERHF directory 5. Install the hot fix by entering the following command: ./installccerhf.sh VRTSccer-F510001952462.tar.gz 6. Follow the installation script prompts. When the installation script prompts you for an Oracle database user name and password, enter the user name and password for a user with system administrator privileges. 7. After you install the hot fix, enable all data sources for data rollup. For each data source: a. Click: Data Management > Data Sources b. Select the data source. c. Check the Enabled checkbox. d. Click Save. 8. If the hot fix installation fails, use the log files created during the attempted installation to diagnose the issue. The log files are as follows: /var/VRTSccer/data/maint/VRTSccer-F510001952462/yyyymmdd_time/output/stdout.txt /var/VRTSccer/data/maint/VRTSccer-F510001952462/yyyymmdd_time/output/stderr.txt ================= Additional Notes: ================= This hot fix includes the following new features and enhancements: * Rollup support - Support for rolling up data from CommandCentral 5.1.1 and 5.1.2 management servers - The ability to roll up Celerra devices - The ability to roll up file-system-to-LUN and volume-to-LUN correlations. - "NetApp" references in the Console/Reports/metamodel have been changed to "NAS" because Enterprise Reporter 5.1 supports both Celerra and Netapp. * New packages in metamodel - NAS Usage Analysis This package contains the information for NAS volumes, NAS file systems, and Qtrees and their capacities. Use this package to create reports about NAS usage data for chargeback purposes. - Chargeback Analysis This package contains file-system-to-LUN and volume-to-LUN correlations. It also contains the file system and volume capacities. Use this package to create reports for chargeback based on file system and volume information. * New reports - A new NAS Chargeback Report This report is located under Sample Reports > Storage Allocation and Chargeback. It shows the chargeback capacities for NAS volumes and NAS file systems. It shows NAS volumes for NetApp arrays and NAS file systems for Celerra arrays. - A new File System and Volume Consumption Report This report is located under Sample Reports > Utilization > Host. This report shows the file system consumption for all file systems and the volume consumption for those volumes that do not have file systems on them. It also shows the underlying arrays, models, and vendors. * New name for the NAS Chargeback Report The new name of this report is "NetApp Chargeback Report". This report is located under Sample Reports > Storage Allocation. * Adjusted allocated capacity is added to the Host Storage Allocation package. This capacity provides the distributed capacity when the lun is shared across multiple hosts. ============ Known Issues ============ This hot fix contains the following known issues: * Data rollups of CommandCentral Storage 4.3 servers fail. Enterprise Reporter 5.1 and later does not support rollups for CommandCentral Storage 4.3 servers. * This hot fix cannot be uninstalled.
