(1925751) Fixes Applied for Products: Veritas Storage Foundation for Database Common Utilities from Symantec Install and Uninstall Instructions: ----------------------------------- 1.Installing the VRTSdbcom 5.0 11.31 GARP1 patch: a) VRTSdbcom 5.0.31.0 must be installed before applying these patches. b) To verify the VERITAS dbcom pkg is installed on the machine, enter: # swlist -l product | egrep -i 'VRTSdbcom' VRTSdbcom 5.0.31.0 Veritas Storage Foundation for Database Common Utilities from Symantec c)To install the patch, enter the following command: swinstall -s PHCO_40991 d) To verify this patch is installed on the machine, enter: # swlist -l product | egrep -i 'PHCO_40991' PHCO_40991 1.0 VRTS 5.0 GARP1 VRTSdbcom Command Patch 2.Removing the patch: a)To remove the patch, enter the following command: # swremove PHCO_40991 Additional Notes: Special Installation Instructions: If you are installing this patch on an inactive DRD system image: + You need not and MUST not stop/kill or restart any processes or daemons. Since the patch is being installed on a DRD clone these actions are not needed, and in fact could leave the running system in an undesirable state. When the DRD clone is booted, all processes will be stopped and restarted. On an active DRD system, after uninstalling the patch PHCO_40991, the vxdbd daemon is down. To start the vxdbd daemon, run the following command to start the daemon: /opt/VRTSdbcom/bin/vxdbdctrl start After running the command, the following output is displayed: "Starting Veritas vxdbd /opt/VRTSdbcom/bin/vxdbd start SUCCESS"
