This patch fixes the following Symantec incidents:

SYMPTOM:
In a VCS 5.0 MP3 RP5 cluster on Solaris, if you set the operating system locale 
to Japanese (variable LANG = ja), then the Veritas fencing module (VxFEN) fails 
to start.

DESCRIPTION:
On Solaris, when VxFEN starts up, it waits for the vxvm-recover service to come 
online. To check the state of vxvm-recover, VxFEN uses the 'svcs' command. 
If you have set the operating system locale to Japanese, the output of 
the 'svcs' command includes Japanese characters. VxFEN is unable to  parse the 
output and therefore fails to start.

RESOLUTION:
Symantec has modified the VxFEN code to ensure that variable LANG is set to C 
for the 'svcs' command.


INSTALLING THE PATCH
--------------------
On top of 5.0MP3RP5 - 

As root:

1) Copy the patch directory (146902-01) to /tmp on the machine.
2) cd /tmp
3) patchadd 146902-01


REMOVING THE PATCH

As root:

patchrm 146902-01
