Date: 2011-12-23 OS: Windows OS Version: 2008, 2008 R2 Packages: VM.dll, VxMPIO.dll Etrack Incidents: 2638992 Errors/Problems Fixed: ----------------------+ This hotfix addresses an issue where during an upgrade, the product installer GUI indicates that the installation has failed at 10%; however the installation completes successfully. Overview --------+ This issue may occur in case of upgrades. During an upgrade, the product installer GUI displays an installation failure error at 10%. But the installation itself completes and the upgrade is successful. While performing the upgrade, the installer refers to the entries in the "PATH" system variable. This issue may occur if the length of the environment variable is large, typically more than 512 characters. Resolution ----------+ The issue is fixed in the offending binaries. The installer now handles long paths for the PATH environment variable and does not obstruct the installation. If you are planning a 6.0 upgrade, you must install this hotfix before you start the installation.
