Date: 2012-June-26 OS: [CommandCentral Storage Management Server Platform: Windows, Solaris]; [Target Platform: AIX] Etrack Incidents: 2832593, 2661021, 2833748, 1973566, 1973567 This HotFix addreses following errors/problems and provides fixes and enhancements: [ - Port discovery of the virtual HBA assigned to the AIX host was failing, causing the data to be missing(e2832593) - AIX host was missing allocated storage(e2661021) - LHM on Standard Agent was going into hung state frequently(e2833748) - Enables correlation of IBM LPAR hosts with information discovered from HMC by LPARExplorer (e1973566) => LPAR discovery through HMC requires you to upgrade the Management Server to atleast 5.2 RU1 version of CommandCentral - StorageExplorer running on IBM LPAR hosts now detects and discovers VSCSI device handle, without attempting a SCSI enquiry on them (e1973567) ] Installation and Uninstallation Instructions: =========================================================================== Applying the HotFix =========================================================================== A - Overview of the Release HotFix --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Apply the HotFix (VRTSccs-F520002832593) to the 5.2 CommandCentral Storage AIX Managed Hosts. B - Deploying the HotFix from a Windows Management Server -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The examples in the following procedure assume that you installed CommandCentral on a 32-bit host in the default installation directory. 1. Copy ccs-win-5.2HF520002832593w1-patches.zip to a temporary location, such as C:\Temp 2. After you extract the hotfix, you see the following: - patches - patches\VRTSccs-F520002832593.tar.gz - README (this file) 3. To push the HotFix to managed hosts, run the following commands from the Management Server: - Go to the HAL bin directory: "C:\Program Files\VERITAS\CommandCentral Storage\HAL\bin" - Type the following command: halsecurity login You may have to enter the password for the 'admin' account that you use to log in to the Console. The default password for this account is 'password' (without single quotes). - To get a list of all managed hosts in a text file, run the following command: perl CHMGetManagedHosts.pl -f C:\Temp\mhs.txt The text file includes the list of all managed hosts. - Edit this file, keeping only the names of those hosts that you want to update. - To deploy the HotFix to the hosts listed in C:\Temp\mhs.txt, run the following command: perl PushUpgrade.pl -u "C:\Temp\VRTSccs-F520002832593.tar.gz" -H C:\Temp\mhs.txt 4. To verify the installation, check the installation logs on the relevant managed hosts as follows: - Go to the CommandCentral HAL Data directory: /var/VRTSccs/data/VRTShal/maint/VRTSccs-F520002832593//output - Check if there are any errors in the stderr.txt file. - Check the detailed logs for the hotfix application in the stdout.txt file. 5. Verify the updated version as follows: - Open cc_version.txt from the following directory: /opt/VRTS/version/ - Check the VERSION. It should look like this VERSION=5.2 - Check the FIXID.
