This patch fixes the following Symantec incidents:

SYMPTOM:
The I/O performance for Oracle Disk Manager (ODM) is poor.

DESCRIPTION:
The I/O performance for ODM is due to a lock contention on the odm_iop_table. 
The odm_iop_table maintains a structure for each process performing I/O 
operations via ODM.

RESOLUTION:
The code is modified to increase the number of hash buckets from 32 to 256. 
This reduces the contention on the global lock.



INSTALLING THE PATCH
--------------------
Installing ODM 4.1-MP2RP6-PHKL_44155 patch:

a)ODM 4.1 must be installed before applying these patches.

b)To verify the ODM level, enter:

     # swlist -l product | egrep -i 'VRTSodm'

VRTSodm     4.1       VERITAS Oracle Disk Manager

c)All the prerequisite/corequisite patches have to be installed before
applying this patch.Here,
PHKL_44155(ODM patch) requires PHKL_39026 as corequisite.
PHKL_39026 requires VRTSvxfs 4.1 package , which is also
needed to install VRTSodm 4.1 package.

d)To install the patch, enter the following command:

     # swinstall -x autoreboot=true -s <patch_directory>  PHKL_44155


REMOVING THE PATCH

     # swremove -x autoreboot=true PHKL_44155
