This TechFile provides information about the Array Support Library (ASL) for NEC iStorage S1000/S2000/S4000 Series and D Series Arrays on Veritas Volume Manager 5.0 and later for HP-UX 11iv2. For general information about ASLs, refer to TechNote 249446 (link in the Related Documents section of this TechFile). Package Name: VRTSNIPNYis Package Version: 5.0-rev-1 Supported versions of Veritas Volume Manager: 5.0 and later Supported Arrays: NEC iStorage S1000/S2000/S4000 Series and D Series Array (Active/Active) 1. Create a directory to store the ASL package: # mkdir /tmp/asl 2. At the bottom of this TechFile, click on Download Now to download the ASL package 3. Download the file VRTSNIPNYis_v1_HPUX_50_293836.tar.Z into the /tmp/asl directory 4. Before adding any ASL packages, ensure Veritas Volume Manager is installed and enabled: # vxdctl mode mode: enabled INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 1. To install the package: # cd /tmp/asl # zcat VRTSNIPNYis_v1_HPUX_50_293836.tar.Z | tar xvf - # swinstall -s `pwd` VRTSNIPNYis 2. After the package is installed, you must execute the vxdctl enable command to claim the disk array as an NEC iStorage array: # vxdctl enable 3. Please do not execute the vxdisk updateudid command to erase udid_mismatch at this time. If you would like to erase udid_mismatch, please do a full backup of all relevant data on disk groups, and restore them after rebuild the disk group.
