Installation Instructions:
1. Create a directory to download the ASL
# mkdir /asl_install
# cd /asl_install/

2. At the bottom of this TechFile, click on Download Now to download the ASL package

3. After downloading VRTShdsalua_asl_5.0_hpux_1131_v1.1.tar_355453.gz, verify checksum of the file
# cksum VRTShdsalua_asl_5.0_hpux_1131_v1.1.tar_355453.gz
3034081944 58928 VRTShdsalua_asl_5.0_hpux_1131_v1.1.tar_355453.gz

4. Uncompress the file
# gunzip VRTShdsalua_asl_5.0_hpux_1131_v1.1.tar_355453.gz
# tar xvf VRTShdsalua_asl_5.0_hpux_1131_v1.1.tar_355453

5. Before adding the ASL package, ensure Veritas Volume Manager is installed and enabled
# vxdctl mode
mode: enabled

6. To install the package:
# swinstall -s 'pwd' VRTShdsalua

7. After the package is installed, you must execute the vxdctl enable command to claim the disk array
# vxdctl enable
Note: In some cases, it has been reported that the installation of the ASL does not take effect, and vxdctl enable does not claim the enclosure and devices. In such cases, you can execute the vxconfigd -k -m enable command in addition to vxdctl enable.

8. After executing vxdctl enable, verify output of the vxddladm listsupport command
# vxddladm listsupport libname=libvxhdsalua.sl
