This TechFile provides information about the Array Support Library (ASL) for the Sun StorageTek 6130 and 6140 arrays on Veritas Volume Manager 4.1MP1, 4.1 MPx and 5.0, 5.0 MP1, 5.0 MP2 for Linux For general information about ASLs, see TechNote 249446 (link in the Related section of this TechFile) Package Name: SUNW61x0asl Package Version: 04.00.A1.01 Supported versions of Veritas Volume Manager: 4.1 MP1 and later MP releases (4.1 MPx) and 5.0, 5.0 MP1, 5.0 MP2 Supported Arrays: Sun StorageTek 6130 and 6140 (A/P & A/P-C) Array Settings: Arrays should be configured to Auto-Trespass (AVT Mode). For additional details on array configuration, contact Sun Technical Support. Note: This ASL will support Active/Passive-Concurrent (A/P-C) operations across multiple primary paths of a LUN discovered by Volume Manager. Installation Instructions: 1. Create a directory to store the ASL package: # mkdir /tmp/asl 2. At the bottom of this TechFile, click on Download Now to download the package 3. Download the file SUNW61x0asl_286972.tar.Z into the /tmp/asl directory 4. Before adding any ASL package, ensure Veritas Volume Manager is installed and enabled: # vxdctl mode mode: enabled 5. To install the package: # cd /tmp/asl # zcat SUNW61x0asl_286972.tar.Z | tar xvf - # rpm -ivh SUNW61x0asl-linux-04.00.A1.01.i686.rpm After the package is installed, you must run the vxdctl enable command to claim the disk array as a Sun 6130/6140 array # vxdctl enable After running the vxdctl enable command, you should see libsun61x0asl.so in the output of the vxddladm listsupport command # vxddladm listsupport libname=libsun61x0asl.so ATTR_NAME ATTR_VALUE ======================================================================= LIBNAME libsun61x0asl.so VID SUN PID CSM100, CSM200 ARRAY_TYPE A/P-C ARRAY_NAME SUN6130-, SUN6140-
