This TechFile provides information about Array Support Library for HP StorageWorks MSA2300 Series Arrays and MSA 2012sa on Veritas Volume Manager (tm) 5.0MP3 and later on Solaris x64 (Opteron) For general information about ASLs, refer to TechNote 249446 (link in the Related Documents section of this TechFile) ASL Package Name: VRTSHPMSA ASL Package Version: 1.0 ASL Package Description: Array Support Library for HP MSA 2000 Series Arrays Supported Versions of Veritas Volume Manager: 5.0MP3 and later Supported Arrays: MSA2312fc, MSA2324fc, MSA2012sa, MSA2312sa, MSA2324sa, MSA2312i, MSA2324i Supported Mode: ALUA Installation Instructions: 1. Create a directory to download the ASL package # mkdir /tmp/asl # cd /tmp/asl 2. At the bottom of this TechFile, click on Download Now to download the ASL package 3. After downloading VRTSHPMSA_Solaris_i386_vm-5.0-rev-1.tar_338097.gz, verify the checksum of the file # cksum VRTSHPMSA_Solaris_i386_vm-5.0-rev-1.tar_338097.gz 2457632964 8523 VRTSHPMSA_Solaris_i386_vm-5.0-rev-1.tar_338097.gz 4. Uncompress the file and extract the ASL package # gunzip VRTSHPMSA_Solaris_i386_vm-5.0-rev-1.tar_338097.gz # tar xvf VRTSHPMSA_Solaris_i386_vm-5.0-rev-1.tar_338097 5. Before adding the ASL package, ensure Veritas Volume Manager is installed and enabled # vxdctl mode mode: enabled 6. Install the ASL package # pkgadd -d . VRTSHPMSA 7. After the package is installed, you must execute the vxdctl enable command to claim the disk array # vxdctl enable Note: In some cases, it has been reported that the installation of the ASL does not take effect, and vxdctl enable does not claim the enclosure and devices. In such cases, you can execute the vxconfigd -k command in addition to vxdctl enable. 8.
