This README provides information about Array Support Library for Equallogic Arrays on Veritas Volume Manager 5.0MP3RP4HF11 and later for Solaris x64 (Opteron). ASL Package Name: VRTSEQLogic ASL Package Version: 1.0 Supported Versions of Veritas Volume Manager: 5.0MP3RP4HF11 and later Supported Arrays: Equallogic Arrays (Active/Active) NOTE: For this ASL to function correctly the VxVM version must be 5.0MP3RP4HF11 or higher. Installation Instructions: -------------------------- 1. Create a directory to download the ASL package # mkdir /tmp/asl # cd /tmp/asl 2. After downloading VRTSEQLogic_Solaris_Opteron_VM-5.0-1.0.tar.gz, verify the checksum of the file. # cksum VRTSEQLogic_Solaris_Opteron_VM-5.0-1.0.tar.gz 1906024307 6100 VRTSEQLogic_Solaris_Opteron_VM-5.0-1.0.tar.gz 3. Uncompress the file and extract the ASL package # gunzip VRTSEQLogic_Solaris_Opteron_VM-5.0-1.0.tar.gz # tar xvf VRTSEQLogic_Solaris_Opteron_VM-5.0-1.0.tar 4. Before adding the ASL package, ensure Veritas Volume Manager is installed and enabled. # vxdctl mode mode: enabled 5. Install the ASL package. # pkgadd -d . VRTSEQLogic 6. After the package is installed, you must execute the "vxdctl enable" command to claim the disk array. # vxdctl enable Note: In some cases, it has been reported that the installation of the ASL does not take effect, and "vxdctl enable" does not claim the enclosure and devices. In such cases, you can execute "vxconfigd -k" command in addition to "vxdctl enable". 7.
