Create a directory to store ASL package # mkdir /tmp/asl # cd /tmp/asl 2. Download the ASL package to /tmp/asl 3. After downloading VRTSHP-EVA-5.0-asl-v1.4.tar.gz, verify checksum # cksum VRTSHP-EVA-5.0-asl-v1.4.tar.gz 4051241952 8193 VRTSHP-EVA-5.0-asl-v1.4.tar.gz 4. Unzip the file and extract the package # gunzip VRTSHP-EVA-5.0-asl-v1.4.tar.gz # tar -xvf VRTSHP-EVA-5.0-asl-v1.4.tar 5. Before adding any ASL package, ensure Veritas Volume Manager is installed and enabled # vxdctl mode mode: enabled 6. ASL Installation: ----------------- # pkgadd -d . VRTSHP-EVA 7. After the package is installed, you must execute the `vxdctl enable` command to claim the disk array. # vxdctl enable Note: In some cases, it has been reported that the installation of the ASL does not take effect and `vxdctl enable` does not claim the the enclosure and devices. In such cases, you can execute the `vxconfigd -k` command in addition to `vxdctl enable` 8.
