======================================================================== This Readme File provides information about the Array Support Library for HP EVA Series and HP Weiser Series Arrays (Active/Active-Asymmetric and ALUA) on VERITAS Volume Manager 5.0, 5.0MP1, 5.0MP2 and 5.0MP3 for Solaris Sparc ASL Package Name : VRTSHP-EVA ASL Package Description : Array Support Library for HP EVA 4400/6400/8400 and HP P6300/P6500 Arrays ASL Package Version : 5.0.1.4 Supported versions of Veritas Volume Manager : 5.0, 5.0MP1, 5.0MP2 and 5.0MP3 Supported Arrays : HP EVA4400/6400/8400 and HP P6300/6500 Supported Mode : A/A-A - Active/Active-Asymmetric ALUA ======================================================================== Installation Instructions: -------------------------- 1. Create a directory to store ASL package # mkdir /tmp/asl # cd /tmp/asl 2. Download the ASL package to /tmp/asl 3. After downloading VRTSHP-EVA-5.0-asl-v1.4.tar.gz, verify checksum # cksum VRTSHP-EVA-5.0-asl-v1.4.tar.gz 4051241952 8193 VRTSHP-EVA-5.0-asl-v1.4.tar.gz 4. Unzip the file and extract the package # gunzip VRTSHP-EVA-5.0-asl-v1.4.tar.gz # tar -xvf VRTSHP-EVA-5.0-asl-v1.4.tar 5. Before adding any ASL package, ensure Veritas Volume Manager is installed and enabled # vxdctl mode mode: enabled 6. ASL Installation: ----------------- # pkgadd -d . VRTSHP-EVA 7. After the package is installed, you must execute the `vxdctl enable` command to claim the disk array. # vxdctl enable Note: In some cases, it has been reported that the installation of the ASL does not take effect and `vxdctl enable` does not claim the the enclosure and devices. In such cases, you can execute the `vxconfigd -k` command in addition to `vxdctl enable` 8.
