Download the new Veritas DMP Array Support package VRTSaslapm-VMware-ESX-ESXi-6.0.000.001.zip from SORT: http://sort.symantec.com 2. Extract the files VRTSaslapm-6.0.000.001-ESX-ESXi-4.1.zip and README-VRTSaslapm unzip VRTSaslapm-VMware-ESX-ESXi-6.0.000.001.zip 3. After extracting, verify checksum of VRTSaslapm-6.0.000.001-ESX-ESXi-4.1.zip # cksum VRTSaslapm-6.0.000.001-ESX-ESXi-4.1.zip 91189211 233580 VRTSaslapm-6.0.000.001-ESX-ESXi-4.1.zip 4. Extract the bundle VRTSaslapm-6.0.000.001-ESX-ESXi-4.1-offline_bundle-726302.zip # unzip VRTSaslapm-6.0.000.001-ESX-ESXi-4.1.zip 5. Before adding new Veritas DMP Array Support, Put the host in the maintenance mode # vicfg-hostops.pl --server=<esx_server_name> --operation enter --username=<username> --password=<password> Host <<esx_server_name>> entered into maintenance mode successfully 6. Uninstall the old Veritas DMP Array Support offline bundle a. Execute the command to remove Veritas DMP Array Support from the ESX/ESXi host: # vihostupdate.pl --server=<esx_server_name> --bulletin=VRTSaslapm-6.0.000.000-ESX-ESXi-4.1 --remove --username=<username> --password=<password> Error encountered: Message - The update completed successfully, but the system needs to be rebooted for the changes to be effective b. Verify that the Old Veritas DMP Array Support offline bundle VRTSaslapm-6.0.000.000-ESX-ESXi-4.1 is uninstalled: # vihostupdate.pl --server=<esx_server_name> --query --username=<username> --password=<password> 7. Install the new array support bundle a. Execute the command to install Veritas DMP Array Support on the ESX/ESXi host: # vihostupdate.pl --server=<esx_server_name> --install --bundle=<absolute path of VRTSaslapm-6.0.000.001-ESX-ESXi-4.1-offline_bundle-726302.zip> --username=<username> --password=<password> b. The bundle gets installed and command finishes with following message: Please wait patch installation is in progress ... The update completed successfully, but the system needs to be rebooted for the changes to be effective. c. Verify that the new Veritas DMP Array Support offline bundle VRTSaslapm-6.0.000.001-ESX-ESXi-4.1 is installed: # vihostupdate.pl --server=<esx_server_name> --query --username=<username> --password=<password> 8. Remove the host from the maintenance mode Example: # vicfg-hostops.pl --server=<esx_server_name> --operation exit --username=<username> --password=<password> Host <esx_server_name> exited from maintenance mode successfully 9.
