ASL Installation Instructions
1. At the bottom of this TechFile, click Download Now to download the ASL package. Download the file VRTSHPXP1281024-SF5.0-AxRT-5.3-v1_290564.tar.Z into the /tmp directory and verify the cksum
# cksum VRTSHPXP1281024-SF5.0-AxRT-5.3-v1_290564.tar.Z

2. Before adding any ASL package, make sure VERITAS Volume Manager is installed and enabled (the vxdctl mode command should return "enabled"):
#  vxdctl mode
mode: enabled

3. To install the package, type:

#  cd /tmp
#  zcat VRTSHPXP1281024-SF5.0-AxRT-5.3-v1_290564.tar.Z | tar xvf -
x VRTSHPXP1281024.bff, 51200 bytes, 100 tape blocks


# installp -acX -d ./VRTSHPXP1281024.bff VRTSHPXP1281024

After the package is installed, you must run the vxdctl enable command to claim the
disk array as an IBM SANVC Array:

#  vxdctl enable

After running the vxdctl enable command, please verify the if the lslpp lists the ASL.
