This TechFile provides information about the Array Support Library (ASL) for 3PAR InServ Storage Servers on Veritas Volume Manager 5.0 and later. For general information about ASLs, see TechNote 249446 (link in the Related section of this TechFile) Package Name: VRTS3par Package Version: 1.0 Supported versions of Veritas Volume Manager: 5.0 and later Supported Arrays: 3PAR InServ S400, S800 (Active/Active) At the bottom of this TechFile, click on Download Now to download the ASL package After downloading VRTS3par_5.0_AIX_5.3_1.0_292908.tar.Z, uncompress the file: # zcat VRTS3par_5.0_AIX_5.3_1.0_292908.tar.Z | tar xvf - Before adding any ASL package, ensure Veritas Volume Manager is installed and enabled: # vxdctl mode mode: enabled ASL Installation: To install the package: # installp -acgX -d ./ VRTS3par After the package is installed, you must run the vxdctl enable command to claim the disk array as a 3PAR array: # vxdctl enable Note: In some cases, it has been reported that the installation of the ASL or APM does not take effect, and the vxdctl enable command does not claim the enclosure and devices. In such cases, you can execute the vxconfigd -k command in addition to vxdctl enable. After executing vxdctl enable and vxconfigd -k, you should see libvx3par.so in the output of the vxddladm listsupport command: # vxddladm listsupport libname=libvx3par.so ATTR_NAME ATTR_VALUE ======================================================================= LIBNAME libvx3par.so VID 3PARdata PID VV ARRAY_TYPE A/A ARRAY_NAME 3PARDATA Package Information: # lslpp -l VRTS3par Fileset Level State Description ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Path: /usr/lib/objrepos VRTS3par 1.0.0.0 COMMITTED VERITAS Array Support Library (1.0) Path: /etc/objrepos VRTS3par 1.0.0.0 COMMITTED VERITAS Array Support Library (1.0)
