This TechFile provides information about the Array Support Library (ASL) for Equallogic Arrays on Veritas Volume Manager 5.0 and later for Linux(RHEL and SLES).

Installation Instructions:
1. Create a directory to download the ASL:
# mkdir tmp
# cd tmp

2. At the bottom of this TechFile, click on Download Now to download the ASL package.

3. After downloading VRTSEQLogic-1.0-1.0.i686.tar_316685.gz, verify checksum of the file
# cksum VRTSEQLogic-1.0-1.0.i686.tar_316685.gz

4. Uncompress the file:
# gunzip VRTSEQLogic-1.0-1.0.i686.tar_316685.gz
# tar xvf VRTSEQLogic-1.0-1.0.i686.tar_316685
VRTSEQLogic-1.0-1.0.i686.rpm

There is one packages present in VRTSEQLogic-1.0-1.0.i686.tar_316685.gz
VRTSEQLogic-1.0-1.0.i686.rpm
Note: There is same package for RHEL4, RHEL5, SLES9 and SLES10.

5. Before adding any ASL package, ensure Veritas Volume Manager is installed and enabled:
# vxdctl mode
mode: enabled

6. ASL Installation:
To install the ASL package VRTSEQLogic-1.0-1.0.i686.rpm, type:
# rpm -ivh VRTSEQLogic-1.0-1.0.i686.rpm

Loading The Library

After the package is installed, you must run the vxdctl enable command to claim the disk array as a Equallogic array
# vxdctl enable

7. After running the vxdctl enable command, you should see libvxeqlogic.so in the output of the vxddladm listsupport command
# vxddladm listsupport libname=libvxeqlogic.so
