This message appears when a Secondary tries to communicate with the Primary, but the attempt to establish the connection fails.
Possible causes
- The primary host is no longer accessible or the IP address is no longer available - The Veritas Enterprise Administrator service (vxob) on the host is not running - The Veritas Enterprise Administrator service is busy performing some other operation that is preventing the connection request to be processed
Solution
1. Verify that the remote primary host can be pinged from the local host 2. Verify that the Veritas Enterprise Administrator service is running on the remote primary host 3. Use vxprint to analyze the configuration of the replicated volume groups (RVGs)
Note: If Veritas Enterprise Administrator service is busy, wait for a little while and then retry the operation. Check the status of the Veritas Enterprise Administrator service by using the Windows Task Manager to observe vxsvc.exe
