Description

If the Secondary nodes lost permanently (due to disaster, or system failure or such other causes) or are attempting certain operations after migration or takeover, above mentioned operations may fail. This error appears because the VVR objects states in Veritas Enterprise Administrator(VEA) is somehow not up to date with respect to what is present in vxconfig configuration.

Solution

To resolve this VVR error, follow these commands on the node on which the error occurred:

1. Freeze Service Groups in the Cluster if the RVG is Clustered

2. Run following command from DOS prompt: C:\>hastop -local -force

   - This will stop the cluster service(HAD) temporarily but not offline any resources.

3. Run following command from DOS prompt: C:\>net stop vxvm

4. Run following command from DOS prompt: C:\>net start vxvm

5. The RDS or the Primary RVG can now be deleted either in VEA GUI or CLI.
