Description:

This message appears when LLT does not receive a heartbeat response message from the peer node within the specified time interval (calculated as a difference between the  peerinact and timetoreqhb timers). The lltconfig –T query lists the values set for these timers.

LLT sends five heartbeat request messages to the peer node and if the peer node does not respond within the specified time, LLT marks this link as expired for that peer node.

Make sure that the peer node is running. If the peer node is running, check for the following:

  • Check whether the link is physically disconnected from the system of switch.
  • Check the link health, and replace the link if necessary.
  • Check whether the peer node is hung.
