For non-Windows platforms, Veritas Cluster Server (VCS) may use fencing to protect data in case of split-brain. The UseFence cluster attribute detects whether fencing is enabled for VCS. The value NONE indicates that fencing is not enabled.

 

The message above would be displayed as:

 

UseFence=NONE. Hence do not need fencing

When UseFence is set to NONE, VCS does not register with VxFen, the kernel module for fencing.
