Error Code details
V-16-10001-1063
Severity: n/a
Component: Cluster Server
Message:
Disk Group is disabled on system. Not failing-over to protect data from potential corruption.
Description:

This message is logged in the following conditions:

  • The cluster does not use I/O fencing.

  • The value of the DiskGroup PanicSystemOnDGLoss attribute is 0.

  • The disk group becomes disabled.

When one of the above events occurs, VCS logs this message and reports the resource as ONLINE. If there is ongoing I/O, it can sometimes take very long to deport the disabled disk group. The resource is reported ONLINE so that it does not fail over, which ensures data integrity.

Check the reason for the disk group being disabled. For example, the disk group may be disabled due to loss of storage connectivity.

To fail over to another node in the cluster, deport the disk group. To bring the disk group online on the same node, freeze the service group, deport the disk group, import the disk group, and unfreeze the service group.
