The VCS engine (HAD) is not running on the cluster nodes. Failed to get the required cluster information. The wizard will quit.
Description:

This error occurs if the Veritas High Availability Engine is not running on the cluster nodes, which may be due to any of the following reasons:
 

  • The Veritas Cluster Server (VCS) cluster is not configured on the nodes.
     
  • The correct VCS license key may not be installed.
     
  • If you are using an evaluation license key, it may have expired.
     
  • There may be an error with single sign-on authentication.

  • The Veritas High Availability Engine service (had.exe) may have stopped.

  1. Make sure that you have addressed all issues listed under "Possible cause(s)."
     
  2. Start the Veritas High Availability Engine (HAD). Enter:

          hastart

 

     3.  Make sure that HAD is running on the cluster nodes. Enter:

 

          hasys -state

 

          The system state should display RUNNING.

 

If HAD does not start, check the VCS engine logs for more details. The VCS engine logs are located at %vcs_home%\log\engine_A.

 

The variable %vcs_home% is the default installation directory for VCS, which typically is C:\Program Files\Veritas\Cluster Server.
