Description:

Veritas Cluster Server (VCS) agents log this error message when the procedure to bring a resource online times out. The agents initiate this procedure and expect to complete it within a pre-specified time period. You can specify the time period by using the OnlineTimeout attribute.

The online procedure may time out due to various reasons. These include: 
 

  • The system faces CPU or memory issues. Identify one or more processes that are consuming high CPU or memory, and take appropriate action(s). You can then try to bring the resource online.
     
  • A job, command, or operation that is part of the online procedure may cause the timeout. Analyze the engine and agent logs to identify the job, command, or operation, and then take appropriate action(s).
     
  • The value of the OnlineTimeout attribute may be too small. Increase the OnlineTimeout value.
