Error Code details
V-16-2-13855
Severity: n/a
Component: Cluster Server
Message:
Agent(%s) - failed to create file descriptor, errno(%s)
Description:
With the latest log feature of unified agent log, agent framework tries to create a file descriptor. Failing to do so results in this error message. If error number is EMFILE, it means that the current process has too many files open and cannot open any more. If error no. is ENFILE, it means that there are too many distinct file openings in the entire system. Resolution: In BSD and GNU, the number of open files is controlled by a resource limit that can usually be increased. If you get this error, you might want to increase the file descriptor limit using the 'ulimit -n' command to a value greater than 2048. Subsequently, restart the system and start VCS. If this does not solve the issue, contact Symantec support.
