Description:

Two commands report this message: fsckpt_restore and mount. In both cases, the kernel failed to mount the file system because of I/O errors or corrupted Veritas File System (VxFS) metadata.

  1. Check the console log for I/O errors.
     
  2. Correct any problems.
     
  3. Run log fsck. Enter:

    /opt/VRTS/bin/fsck /special_device_name

    Note: If log fsck doesn't work, run full fsck. Enter:

    /opt/VRTS/bin/fsck -o full /special_device_name

If this message displays with other messages indicating that a volume in the volume set (vset) is inaccessible, also run the vxvset(1m) and vxprint(1m) commands to determine which volume it is and take appropriate action. The commands have the following syntax:
 

vxvset [-g disk_group] list [vset]

vxprint [-g disk_group]
