If the managed host is up and reporting to the Veritas Operations Manager Management Server, uninstall Control Host Add-on from the managed host and then remove the host from the Veritas Operations Manager Management Server.

For more information on how to uninstall add-ons and remove host, see the Veritas Operations Manager Management Server Administrator Guide.

If the managed host is down, do one of the following:

  • If the Veritas Operations Manager Management Server version is earlier than 4.1, power-up the host, report the host to the Management Server, and follow the steps in the Veritas Operations Manager Management Server Administrator Guide to uninstall Control Host add-on and remove the host.

  • If the Veritas Operations Manager Management Server version is 4.1, apply the hot fix described at https://sort.veritas.com/patch/detail/6040 on the Veritas Operation Manager Management Server.

  • If the Veritas Operations Manager Management Server version is 5.0 or later, remove the managed host forcefully using the vomadm CLI command given below.

To remove the managed host forcefully using the vomadm CLI:

  1. Log on to Veritas Operations Manager Management Server as an administrator.

  2. In the VRTSsfmh install directory, go to the bin folder, and execute the following commands.

Note: The path to the VRTSsfmh installation directory for Linux or Solaris is /opt/VRTSsfmh. For Windows, the path is C:\Program Files\VERITAS\VRTSsfmh.
  • The command for Linux or Solaris is ./vomadm host-mgmt --remove --host host name --force

  • The command for Windows is perl vomadm host-mgmt --remove --host host name --force
