This error may occur in the following situations:

  • The Veritas Operations Manager (VOM) Central Server fails to contact the xprtld service on the Managed Host due to a connectivity problem with xprtld.
  • The xprtld service is no longer running on the Managed Host.

Check if you can ping the Managed Host from the Central Server.

If you can ping the Managed Host, check if the xprtld service is running. On the Managed Host, enter:

# /opt/VRTSsfmh/adm/xprtldctrl status

If xprtld is not running, start it. On the Managed Host, enter:

# /opt/VRTSsfmh/adm/xprtldctrl start
