This error message is displayed in the following situations: 
 

  • The Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) server is not reachable.
     
  • The SMTP port is not correct.

In the Veritas Operations Manager Console, navigate to Settings > General. Enter the correct SMTP server and SMTP port details. Click Send Test Mail. The test mail should be sent successfully.
