Description:

This error message is displayed in the following scenarios:
 

  • You are not authorized to perform a privileged operation.
     
  • The Veritas Operations Manager (VOM) Central Management Server (CMS) cannot be refreshed. This problem can happen in the following cases:

    -   There is a communication failure between CMS and the Managed Host.

    -   When the host is no longer part of the VOM domain. The package has been uninstalled without removing it from VOM;
        therefore, there are stale objects in the user interface and database.

The following solutions correspond to each bullet above.

Solution 1

Log in as a privileged user who is authorized to perform the specified operation.

Solution 2

Remove the host from VOM:

  1. Select Start > Settings > Host Management > host_name. Check the value in the Last Ping Time column. If it is more than 10 minutes, there is a communication problem between CMS and the Managed Host. To resolve the problem:
     
  2. Launch the Remove Host operation.
     
  3. If step 2 is successful, reinstall the package on the Managed Host and add the host to CMS.
