Veritas Enterprise Administrator DOES NOT display ActionAgent and StorageAgent even though Task Manager shows instances of vxpal.exe process are running.
Windows Services shows Veritas Storage Agent and Veritas Storage Agent services are Started.
VEA console Message shows "Agent StorageAgent on host %hostname% is now leaving the domain."
Error Messages:
vxassist version V-77-57616-2 Server Initialization failed
vxdisk list V-77-57616-2: Server Initialization failed.
veainfo -agent_info -a StorageAgent V-40-49443-176 Error in getting objects from the agent Storage Agent@hostname
6. Logon to Veritas Enterprise Administrator and verify Agent actionagent and Agent StorageAgent and their child objects appear correctly.
Solution for Storage Foundation for Windows (SFW) installations:
1. Stop services.
net stop vxob - Veritas Administrator Service
net stop actionagent - Veritas Action Agent
net stop vxvm - Veritas Storage Agent
net stop vxgn - Veritas GridNode
net stop xprtld - Storage Foundation Messaging Service
2. Open task manager and end the process for VxVDS.exe if present.
3. Rename folder \Program Files\VERITAS\Security\Authentication\systemprofile\ (on 64-bit version)
4. Reboot the node.
5. Logon to Veritas Enterprise Administrator and verify Agent actionagent and Agent StorageAgent and their child objects appear correctly.
