This solution is applicable for 5.0 release and later.

  1. Update the unique disk identifier (UDID) for one or more disks. Run this command on the disks mentioned in the error message:

#     vxdisk updateudid disk_name

 

The disk names can be access names or media names of the disks.

  1. Check that the UDIDs of disks are unique.
