Description:

This message displays when Veritas Volume Manager (VxVM) cannot start a volume because there is no enabled/updated copy of the data. A volume can be started only if it has at least one CLEAN and ACTIVE plex (mirror).

To start a volume, make sure you have a CLEAN plex and perform the following tasks:
  1. If a plex is in the DETACHED state, resolve any I/O errors on the disk.
     
  2. Make sure that the disks associated with the volume are accessible.
