Description:

Normally, during Veritas Volume Manager (VxVM) installation, the post-installation script automatically creates devices in the /dev/vx directory. This message indicates that the VxVM devices are not in /dev/vx. The possible causes are a failed VxVM installation or that files in /dev/vx were mistakenly deleted.

Recreate VxVM devices by running devfsadm, Enter:

 

# /usr/sbin/devfsadm

 

The /dev/vx/iod device should now be created.
