VSET is a collection of multiple volumes. In Veritas Volume Manager (VxVM) 6.2 release, all the volumes in a VSET can either be atomic-write capable or non atomic-write capable. Hence, creating a VSET using a particular type of volume decides the type of that VSET. For example: If a VSET is being created using atomic-write capable volume, then, only atomic-write capable volumes can be added to that VSET. If you try to add non atomic-write capable volume to atomic-write capable vset, and vice-a-versa then the error message is displayed. |
