Use the following command  to determine if the dmpnode is present in the /dev/vx/[r]dmp/ path:

# file /dev/vx/[r]dmp/$dmpnodename

If the above command fails with the message "cannot open", the dmpnode does not exist. Provide the correct dmpnodename.
