Description:

The vxdg command displays this message when it creates a new disk group or it adds a disk to an existing disk group. The message is the result of the one of the following conditions:

 

  • The disk being added is part of a deported disk group.
     
  • You specified the -k option with the vxdg adddisk command, and the disk is being added to a different disk group that the one from which it was removed.

If either of the conditions above is true, do not add the disk to the disk group. If you specified the -k option, determine the correct disk group to which this disk group should be added. Enter:
 

vxdisk list disk

If neither of the conditions above is true, the error could have occurred because a deported disk group has been abandoned. If the disk does not contain data that you may need again, initialize the disk, and use it to add to a disk group.
