Error Code details
V-5-1-327
Severity: Error
Component: Volume Manager
Message:
plex name too long, context: %s
Description:

This error occurs when you try to convert a LVM volume group (VG) that has a
logical volume (LV) with a name more than 28 characters. VxVM plex names have
a limit of 31 characters. Because vxvmconvert tries to create the plex names,
during conversion, by appending "-##" to the LV name (where ## stands for
numbers like 01, 02 ...), it overflows the limit and the vxmake command returns the
error.

Before you convert the LVM volume group, change the names of all the LVM
logical volumes under conversion to names which have 28 or fewer characters.
Use HP's recommended way to change the volume names.
