  1. Check if the vxnetd daemon uses the same port on all the hosts.

    The vxnetd daemon runs as a kernel thread. And it should listen on the configured port, which is 4145 by default. Run command vrport on all the hosts and check whether they use the same vxnetd port.

    For example, the following output shows that the vxnetd port is 4145 as the heartbeat indicates. And every host in the replication setup should report the same port.

    # vrport
    heartbeat=4145
    vradmind=8199
    vxrsyncd=8989
    data=Anonymous-Ports
  1. Verify that vxnetd is running on the system.

    Check if the vxnetd daemon listens on the port. Enter:

    # netstat –an | grep port

    If vxnetd daemon is not running, start it. Enter:

    # /etc/init.d/vxnm-vxnetd start
