When you initialize a disk (using vxdisk init) and a failure occurs for a reason that is not specific to VxVM, this error message appears. In the message, the information after “init failed” indicates the reason for the failure.

When a failure occurs for a reason that is specific to VxVM, a more specific VxVM error message appears instead.
