Refer to the manual page of the command and make sure you entered all the arguments correctly.  For example:

  1. Run a command to generate an error. Enter:

    #  vxdisk getctlr
    VxVM vxdisk ERROR V-5-1-693 Incorrect usage
    Usage:
                   vxdisk [-f] getctlr accessname
     
  2. Run the command again using the correct syntax. Enter:

    #  vxdisk getctlr ibm_ds8x000_1
    fscsi2
