The solution applies to Veritas Volume Manager 4.0 and later releases.

 

To solve the problem:

 

  1. Check the state of vxconfigd. Enter:

vxdctl mode

 

  1. If vxconfigd is not enabled, enter:

vxdctl enable

 

  1. Repeat step 1 to check whether it is enabled. If not, restart vxconfigd by entering:

vxconfigd -k
