Message:
When a disk is added to the set of disks being managed by the Veritas Volume Manager (VxVM), the Volume Manager needs to know which areas on the disk can be used to contain various VxVM on-disk structures for internal purposes and which areas can be used as part of a volume. Together these areas form the layout of a VxVM disk. Some of the attributes of a disk layout can be optionally specified to the Volume Manager when a disk is added, and any such specifications will override VxVM internal defaults for those attributes. The Volume Manager provides a mechanism for storing user preferences for some of these optionally specified attributes, and you can set these now as part of installation if you so desire. Any preferences you store now will be used when the installation processes initializes a VxVM disk.
