To solve the problem:

 

  1. Check the state of vxconfigd. Enter:

 

vxdctl mode

 

  1. If vxconfigd is in disabled mode, enter:

 

vxdctl enable

 

  1. If vxconfigd is in not-running mode, manually start vxconfigd by entering:

 

vxconfigd –k
