Details:



When trying to scan the DMP device tree on RedHat Enterprise  Linux 4 the following error is reported:


#vxdctl enable
VxVM ERROR V-5-2-9002 apm_keyget: invalid APM crc


This indicates a corrupt APM.


The same error will be reported when trying to list  APMs.


#vxdmpadm listapm all

Solution:


Re-install the RPM which contains the APMs

#rpm -e --nodeps VRTSvxvm-platform
#rpm -ivh VRTSvxvm-platform-<version>.rpm

VxVM will need to be started after the RPM is installed.

#vxconfigd -k
