Description:

To prevent multiple servers from simultaneously importing the same disk group, Storage Foundation for Windows (SFW) writes a host ID to the disks as they are imported. In some cases, this host ID may remain after the disk group is no longer imported. In such a scenario, when the disk group is imported onto a new server, this message appears.

  • When you import the disk group from Veritas Enterprise Administrator (VEA), select Clear Host ID.
     
  • When you import with vxdg, use the -C switch.
